I felt like a heel for making her get in the helicopter. Her fear was obviously real and her body shook against me. The moment she sat up and took in the scenery, I thought I had been right, but nope. If we were not over a large body of water I would have made the pilot land immediately, but it was only a few more minutes until we reached our destination and I could always commission a private boat to take us back. No more helicopters for my girl.

We snuggled in silence and I made mental notes on all the ways I was going to spoil her when we got to Crete. The market was supposed to host an array of handmade wares as well as the most amazing seafood in the country, fresh off the boat to the cafes. And of course, I was going to take her to Balos beach. It was credited as one of the most stunning in the world. And according to some steamy posts I had seen on travel forums, there were quite a few secluded areas with plenty of privacy for intimate encounters.

Anna didn’t relax until the helicopter landed and the propellers had slowed enough for us to get out. Once our feet hit the ground, she ran from the helipad, not even looking back to see where I was.

She stopped once she got about a hundred feet away.

“In a hurry, sugar-bean?”

“I’m all done with that thing.” She waved her hand in the direction of the helicopter that was being refueled for its flight back to Athens.

“I know, I know. No more flying until we have to go back to the States.”

“I’ll need wine.”

“I’ll get you wine,” I promised. “Now, are you ready to experience Crete?”

“Is there a beach involved?”

“The most stunning beach you will ever lay eyes on in your entire life.” I held my hand out to her and she took it.

“Well then, we better go. We are wasting valuable beach-bumming time.”

“Yes, ma’am.” I winked.
